Refosco dal peduncolo rosso is the most noble of the Friulian red indigenous vines; the Friuli Aquileia production area has always been ideal for its cultivation. The most accredited tradition derives from the direct descendent of the much glorified Pucinum, the red wine that was preferred by Livia, second wife of Emperor Augustus.
Today, the producers of the Consortium are working hard to revive this fascinating, unique and extraordinary wine that is deep-rooted in the Aquileia territory that has had a natural inclination since time immemorial.
